RMS: Record Global Signings for RMS the Hospitality Cloud

Gerry Comninos, CEO
Accommodation technology company, RMS – The Hospitality Cloud, is growing at a record rate with more than 800 new properties switching to its industry - leading Property Management System over the past 12 months.

CEO, Gerry Comninos says, "RMS now provides cloud -based booking, property management and distribution technology to 6000+ hotels, serviced apartments, holiday parks and work camps in 30 countries."

According to him, India is playing an increasingly significant role in the growth of RMS with 140 clients and fresh commitments from a range of local hoteliers including Vincca Hotels and Resorts and Tuma Hotels.

“We see a lot of potential in India, especially for our enterprise system which is ideally suited to multi-property chains of between 10 to 40 properties,” says Comninos.

“It’s a dynamic market and we’re finding customers value the fact we’re not a one-trick pony and offer a complete end-to-end technology solution.” Adds Comninos.

Features of the fully-integrated RMS system include property management, channel management, point of sale, dynamic pricing, housekeeping, accounting, tour desk, event management and sales.

Comninos says, "RMS is continually innovating, always expanding not only our own functionality but also integrations to other key software platforms.”

Leveraging off its strong hotel base, Comninos says serviced apartments are a growing opportunity for RMS.

“We’ve created The Hospitality Cloud for Apartments - a property management and accommodation booking system specifically designed to handle the complexities of the apartment industry,” he says.

Developed in conjunction with several of the world’s leading serviced apartment brands, the cloudbased technology offers seamless
booking and customer management solutions combined with industry- leading distribution capabilities.

The RMS Property Management System can push and facilitate bookings through multiple channels including brand websites, the world's most popular online travel agents and global distribution systems.

RMS is rapidly expanding its serviced apartment business with clients including leading Australian brands- Quest Apartment Hotels, Punthill Apartment Hotels and Melbourne Short Stay Apartments.

It is also well advanced on a pilot program with one of the world’s biggest serviced apartment operators ahead of planned network-wide rollout across the brand’s 250 properties over the next 12 months.

Security is another area where RMS has an edge, says Comninos.

RMS recently became the first accommodation technology company to achieve FedRAMP security certification for its Property Management System enabling it to win a game-changing contract with the US Marine Corps. Because US Government agencies must only deal with FedRAMP certified technology suppliers, this gives RMS a significant first-mover advantage in a key accommodation market.

RMS founder Peter Buttigieg says it took more than a year to win FedRAMP certification.

“Protecting the data and privacy of our users has always been central to RMS and we’ve really stepped up our security since moving to a cloud-based operating environment, which is guarded by extremely robust firewalls,” Buttigieg says.

“FedRAMP certification is a resounding endorsement of our military-grade security protocols and measures at a time when privacy has emerged as a major concern for all technology users.” adds Buttigieg

To ensure it meets the challenges presented by such strong growth, RMS is ramping up client support services, recently adding new client support staff in Europe, Southeast Asia and China.

“We are moving quickly to stay ahead of demand and ensure we provide high levels of service,” says Comninos, adding that RMS employs more than 100 technology, sales, support and admin staff across its growing network.
